Descending into the depths is dangerous. Large quantities of CO2 can be released due to pressure changes in wells and in ventilation shafts. Concentrations of more than 5 vol.% CO2 in the air a person breathes can lead to clouding or loss of consciousness or death. Faulty gas pipe lines near a pit or shaft are also dangerous. In narrow shafts, natural ventilation is insufficient. For this reason, providing for a supply of clean, fresh air is important before entering the shaft.

Particularly when working in pits, preventative measurement of dangerous gases is essential to survival. To establish if the pit is safe to work in, the floating probe is used to take measurements at the bottom of the pit before entering. This ensures the safety of all workers. With the Multitec® 520, six gases can be measured simultaneously. For this reason, this gas warning device can be used practically anywhere. A large display allows all parameters to be quickly read from a single screen.

The Multitec 410 is the latest addition to the Sewerin range of multiple gas warning devices. Unlike the Multitec 5xx devices, the Multitec 410 has a catalytic sensor, also known as a catalytic combustion sensor, for measuring flammable gases.

The EX-TEC® PM 400 is a mobile gas warning device that reliably warns plumbers, staff from utility companies, network operators, fire services and other technical staff of dangerous gas concentrations. The compact device is available with various sensors and, even in its most basic version, allows you to monitor flammable gases. The range of gases that can be detected make the EX-TEC® PM 400 versatile in practice – even for out-of-the-ordinary applications.
